Some of you will be aware that I'm currently in the final 6 people of the Nikon/PM UK's Best Photographer 2009 competition. To say that they're testing every ounce of our photographic knowledge, creativity and skill would surely earn you the title of King of Understatement, but none the less it's been very enjoyable.
So far they've quizzed us in a "test" style paper, had us trying to find three killer landscape shots in the Peak District (during the middle of the day, in just 4hrs,) and shooting 3 portraits within 45mins... Including choosing location, clothing, styling, concept, lighting, setting them all up and shooting them within those 45mins. Eek.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what the current challenge is but we''ve had a lot longer to do it, 3 weeks, and I've got to admit that I've spent most of that time just churning over ideas and approaches to the challenge. The deadline is on Monday and I'm still yet to shoot my second and third photos for it, ideally I need it all in the post tomorrow.
I love a challenge.
